Newsletter & Recital Information

Recital
The year-end recital will be on Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, June 26th at The Oakville Centre for Performing Arts. There will be two shows on each day at 1:00pm and 6:00pm. Most dancers will perform in only two shows on the same day (either Saturday or Sunday) with the exception of a few classes and competitive dancers that will perform in all four shows. Please check the schedule on the bulletin boards to see which day(s) you are dancing on.

Dress Rehearsal
There will be two dress rehearsals on Friday, June 24th, also at The Oakville Centre for Performing Arts. The first dress rehearsal (for Saturday dancers) will start at approx. 3:30pm. The second dress rehearsal (for Sunday dancers) will start at approx. 6pm. All dancers must attend the dress rehearsal.

Backstage Help
If you are not watching both shows, your help backstage would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to volunteer, please print your name on the sign up sheet that will be posted in the studio. We will require approx. 15-20 adults per show to look after the younger dancers. Please remember, if you sign up for backstage help, you will not be able to watch the show from the audience and you will have to stay backstage for the entire performance. During the show, only volunteers will be allowed backstage with the exception of Creat .Mov. parents.

Recital Tickets
Recital tickets will go on sale Monday, May 30th at 11am and will be $13.40 + $2.60 box office charge  ($16.00) with part of the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. Tickets will be sold through the Oakville Centre Box Office at 130 Navy St. or over the phone by calling 905-815-2021 or on their web site at www.oc4pa.ca. Tickets will be available on a first come first serve basis and there will be no limit. To avoid disappointment please remember to purchase your tickets early as tickets have sold out very quickly in previous years.

Pictures
We will be having picture days on Monday, June 20th, Tuesday, June 21st and Wednesday, June 22nd. All photos will be taken at the studio and there will be no charge to get your photo taken. Every student will have two individual shots in each costume as well as a group shot with their class. A 3×5 (individual photo) and a 5×7 (group photo) will be printed and ready to purchase from the photographer on the day of the recital. Additional enlargements and packages may be ordered through the photographer (Henry Mendel) on the day of the recital or by mail. A picture schedule will be posted shortly.

Recital DVD’s
A DVD of the recital will be available through JH Video which is an established company that we have used for the past three years. DVD’s are ordered directly through JH Video, however you may pick up and drop off your forms at the studio – they will be available shortly. Just a reminder, the Oakville Centre for Performing Arts does not permit any video recorders or flash photography. This rule is enforced by the ushers.

Early Registration A discount will be offered to students that pre-register for the 2011/12 dance season. The new schedule has been tentatively set and pre-registration forms are available at the studio. Please remember that pre-registration prices only apply until July 4th, 2011.

Summer Camp
Allegro will be offering a summer dance camp during the week of August 8th – 12th. The junior camp (from 9-1pm) is for dancers ages 4-9 yrs and includes three classes per day, snacks and crafts. The cost of the junior camp is $159.29 + $20.71 hst  ($180.00). More details about the competitive dance camp will be available shortly. Registration forms are available in the studio.
