Dear Parents & Students,
Just a quick note to remind you of some important information for the Holiday Season and New Year. Thank you for a wonderful first term and Happy Holidays!

Open House / Parents Week
Students will have an opportunity to perform for friends and family during our “Open House / Parents Week” which will run from Sat. Dec. 17 – Thurs. Dec. 22. You may observe the class from inside the studio while students demonstrate the exercises and dances they have been working on throughout the year.
Christmas Holidays
The studio will be closed from Fri. Dec. 23 - Fri. Jan. 6 for the holiday season. The last day of classes will be on Thurs. Dec. 22 and regular classes will resume again on Sat. Jan. 7, 2012.
Second Term & Costume Payments
Second term payment is due by Jan. 16, 2012. If you are paying by cheque and haven’t already done so, please drop one off before the 16th. For those of you that have already submitted post-dated cheques or are paying by credit card, please remember that they will be deposited or billed on Jan. 16, 2012. Unless you are a competitive dancer, costume payment has been incorporated into your yearly tuition. Costumes must be ordered by the end of January so it is important that second term payment is received on time. If second term payment is not received by Jan. 16, 2011, a costume will not be ordered and may not be available at a later date (or there may be an extra charge to order one after January).
Recital
The year-end recital at The Oakville Centre for Performing Arts has been set for Sat. June 23 & Sun. June 24, 2012 with dress rehearsal on Fri. June 22. If you will not be participating in the recital, please let your teacher know as soon as possible.
March Break - The studio will be closed for March Break from Sun. Mar. 11 – Sun. Mar. 25 with classes resuming on Mon. Mar. 26.
Fitness Tax Credits
Your “Payment Notice” which was issued in the Fall is an official receipt which can be submitted for your Fitness Tax Credit. If you have misplaced this receipt, another one will be printed and filed under your last name in the black file folder in the front waiting area. These receipts will be ready to pick up when you return from the holidays and will also indicate if there is a balance remaining on your account.
Ballet & Jazz Slipper Reminder
Please remember to sew elastics over the arch of the foot and also cut the drawstrings before wearing shoes to class. Please pull the drawstring laces so that the shoes are comfortable (not too tight) and tie them into a double knot. Then trim the laces, leaving about 1 ½” which can be tucked or taped into the shoe. This will prevent tripping hazards from laces that have come undone. Also, please avoid wearing hair clips, hair bands and scrunchies which can fall out while dancing. A basic ponytail or bun is all that is required for dance class.
New Administrative Director
Allegro School of Dance would like to welcome Tara Wilson as the new Administrative Director for the studio. Coming from a dance background herself and as a graduate of the Ryerson University Dance program, Tara is very excited to once again be working in a studio environment with budding young dancers. Tara is also a mom of two young girls, Tori and Monica who are also dancers at Allegro. Tara hopes to bring a unique mixture of dance, admin and mommy skills to the office that will help to keep things running smoothly at the studio. You will still see Josephine at the studio but only on Saturdays as she is pursuing another job and continuing her education.
