Genevieve Galea

Ms. Genevieve began dancing at Allegro School of Dance at the age of three, where she developed a lifelong love of dance. During her time at Allegro, she trained extensively in ballet and contemporary dance and was an accomplished competitive dancer. She later continued her full-time professional training under the mentorship of renowned Canadian ballerina Evelyn Hart, working with distinguished teachers and contemporary choreographers from around the world.

In 2019, Ms. Genevieve joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s Aspirant Program and performed in productions including Swan Lake, La Bayadère, The Nutcracker, and Don Quixote. During this time, she also developed her artistic voice as a choreographer. In 2020, she created and submitted an original work to the Prix de Lausanne’s Young Creation Award competition. The following year, she co-choreographed a contemporary work for the First Steps Choreographic Competition, which received both the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Award and First Place.

Since returning to Allegro in 2021, Ms. Genevieve has completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University and is now completing her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. She enjoys integrating her knowledge of movement, health, and child development into her teaching practice.
